The commercial, retail, and office space market is mainly located in the downtown Los Altos area. Main Street and State Street are the most expensive areas costing typically $150 per square foot of land. Outlying area are more in the $75 per square foot range. Most properties are fairly small in size and turn over rarely. The average price for a small lot downtown will range from $1,000,000 to $2,000,000 with the larger, well built properties going for $4,000,000.
